Those are sooooooo pretty. :i6: Is it weird that I imagine them to smell of vanilla?!

Thanks gals. I would love it if they smelled of vanilla, I wonder if I could source some shampoo.

At the moment I'm using John Frieda 'sheer blonde' so they smell of that.

I'm glad you all like them. I will have some more pics soon, when I've played about with it some more. I wear it in a ponytail so rarely, but haven't spent any time seeing what it will do.

There are also pics from the pre-extension stage and the lightening stages. Maybe I'll make a start-to-finish post, if you all think you can handle the visual onslaught that was my canary yellow shocker.

What I find particularly funny is that it had been slept on and actually calmed down a bit at that point.

Thanks kaja. I love you in pink, can't wait to see the pics.

The rest of you, you make me larf. The downsizing of my vanity in the posting of that picture is in direct correllation to the height of my embarrassment now.

To be fair, i did love the hair like that but my job does mean that I don't have time to wait for nature. My hair has to look spanking; at all times, without question. So I had to hurry the process and only stayed looking like that overnight before I began the extension job.

Never did get that orange dress and pearls...

Well, I just finished the first of the backcombing and I have to say for a DIY job I'm quite pleased with them so far. There is definitely room for improvement though. My sister graciously decided to help me and for someone with near no knowledge of dread work she picked it up pretty quickly. A little over half my head is finished and I have about 30-40 (ill count when my whole head is done) dready messes upon my head. Tomorrow we shall be finishing them off and I cannot wait. Pictures will be up in a day or two once all the tidying up is done.

Backcombing is finished!!!!! Not to sound like an overly proud parent, but my dreads look great. Still very messy and poofy but distinguishable as newborn dreadlings. All my sister (and then other sister and roommate) did was backcomb, palmroll, and give my hair the occasional spray of a salt solution. The salt water I really felt helped through the whole process. It was definitely a time consuming task lasting about 6-7 hours over the course of two days but I'm really happy with the results. I cant wait to see how my little dreadlings grow up.

PS my sisters/roommates have already started to slip dread related puns into random conversations. Eg: "this is dreadfully boring work. I'm already dreading having to do the next one." it's great!

Asda does an own brand shampoo/shower gel in one that smells exactly like 'Angel' perfume. They also do a Wild Raspberry and Vanilla pump gel that smells like raspberry ripple. The bottles look similar to the Original Source gels & shampoos and htey all smell yummy. I have Ginger and Orangeflower with honey and it's divine.
I'm not saying stupidity should be a capital offense. But we could take the safety labels off everything and let nature run its course.

DreadheadHQ make a dread spray that smells of vanilla, it really sticks to your locks and makes them smell all yummy! I think it's also supposed to condition dreads, but I didn't notice any conditioning when I used to used it on my dreads, just the lovely vanilla-y smell!

Yeah I use the vanilla spray, smells really good but can't see any conditioning, wich I'm happy with because I only wanted the smell :)
