It would be keeping the colors from bleeding together that would probably be the most difficult. It appears as though the colors are just placed in large sections around the head.

Very pretty though. I have a crush on fishtail braids. I'm sad my hair is short that I can't do them anymore. D:

oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. LOVE.

I can't imagine washing your hair would work out well, though getting the color in shouln't be too tricky. Dry shampoo and super rad hair for a week?!

That would be my best suggestion too. Colors would bleedbleedbleed depending on what you used of course.

I suppose you could wash each section separately... but that would be a pain.

even washing each color serperatley doesnt totally work out. i did it for like two weeks once then gave up. the pink and yellow would inevitably go mucky :/

The worst bit would be upkeep, trying to redye the sections of colour exactly how you first did it haha

Wow! So amazing. If you have the original blog it came from maybe you could ask the person who owns the hair how they do it.

It shouldn't be too hard it you had someone to do it for you. All you would have to do is section it into triangles (like pie pices) you would just have to be super careful and leave it on for a while. Looks ver cool though I love the effct the braid gives the colors.

yeh totally awesome and love the effect of the plait, but id think even washing with cold water would be hard maintenace and would probably fade pretty quickly too, i bet it would end up costing a small fortune buying all the colours and jeeping them looking nice and bright,
does look very good though :D

Dang! She really is breathtaking! If I knew I could do it and maintain it properly, I'm pretty sure I'd have to put this on my head. For now I'll just stick to rainbow dreads. :)

oh yeah, geez how the hell did she manage the upkeep of it and all that hair,
she looks so much better with it shorter i reckon and being shorter i think it does the colours more justice

Yeah I have been following her for a while, look back through her flicker, I LOVE http://www.flickr.com/photos/wisely-cho ... hotostream this pastely hair. SO perfect.
I dont actually find that when I have a couple of colours in that they bleed, but then hers are really nicely defined, but well blended. Such an artistic eye for where to put and how to place the colours.

I have done this and it is a pain in the ass! I had to wash my hair with cold water to keep the colors from bleeding. The colors faded at different rates so it seemed like I was always doing touch ups. It was worth it for a while, but not long term.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking that too. I've gotten a chemical burn or two on my neck when my bleach dripped and I didn't notice until there was a raised bump and a lot of pain. Why would you be willing to sit there for two hours with bleach all over your scalp?! Can you say OUCH?!

Madii wrote:A useful link, but I feel the need to point out that she lists at least two bad bleaching practices there which no one should follow. Deliberately leaving bleach to burn your scalp is not a good way to dye your hair, ever. Please be careful if you're bleaching your hair, ladies, it is a harmful irritant and leaving it on your skin to the point where you get a chemical burn is an excellent way to become allergic to bleach permanently. Also it's just frickin' painful. Common sense, girls.

Ohhhh agree. I'm a bit horrified after reading that.. She must REALLY want rainbow hair.. *shivers*

on another note, i just totally stalked the shit out of her flicker, and her chinchiulas are sooooo cute!

Gotta be easier that the upkeep on that many colours! I think dry shampoo would be your best friend after a dye job like those.
