Sadly I'm not planning on having real dreadlocks myself but I was just curious as to what you do when your dreadlocks become too long?

Yes but what do you do to the ends because surely they look a bit funny just stopping all of a sudden...

Generally you don't have to do anything, because they'll kinda "naturalize" themselves out, but if it's really bothersome I suppose you could try to round the ends again by using felting needles/crochet hooks etc.

Cutting them is the answer. But, before anyone goes all scissor happy, i feel i should point out that they should be cut at an angle.

I also recommend cutting the same amount of each dreadlock so they dont all end up the same length when you're done - cuz that just looks funny!

Each dread you have is more than likely a different length, so by cutting, for example, 4" off each of them, they will all end up at different lengths again!

Does that make sense or am i waffling again?

Rub the newly cut tips between two fingers, then give them a wash. That way they should loose the sharp edges made by cutting!
Computers are like air-conditioning - they work fine until you open windows.
