Re: Birmingham/West Midlands Meet: 08/08/09
I'm thinking I'd rather come down on the train now.
Less hassle than trying to deal with a car.
If we do decide to come on train, what time are people booking return tickets for?

Myself and Somekind... decided it best not to get tickets with specific times on-just because we dont know when we'll be done in Bham. Unless of course we did set a time now and we could all buy cheap advance tickets....?<<Miss_Sami>> wrote:If we do decide to come on train, what time are people booking return tickets for?

For me it's £30 one way anytime, or £9 one way advance.
If people don't want to set a time then no worries as I'm coming down with Zombie Candycane anyway so I'll have someone to mooch around with if we time it wrong

£30 for one way? Not a return?
If you go to http://www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com you might get a better deal on returns?
If I bought single tickets in advance now it works out at £17 return, if I wait till the day and get an off peak return its £28.70.
That said if my kitty has not had her kittens by then I most likely wont be coming as she will be due anytime around then :S

It's only marginally cheaper to do a advanced ticket and open return - £35.
I think we've gone back to the driving idea
To park all day in an NCP next to the station only costs £14 which is cheaper than 1 return ticket on the train.

Re: Birmingham/West Midlands Meet: 08/08/09
I totally forgot all about this meet! Since it's a Saturday I'm almost certainly not working so I'd love to come I'm going on holiday 4 days later though so I probably can't afford the botanical gardens. Is it still worth me coming?
Miss_ Sami: I'm pretty sure the car park next to the Carling Academy is a bit cheaper than that?
Edit: If I can swing the gardens financially, is it going to totally screw with my hayfever?!

Re: Birmingham/West Midlands Meet: 08/08/09
Pants my student card will have ran out by then! hehe oh well
I was going to ask about if we'd be better off meeting you at the Botanical Gardens, but then I read the updated front page and decided that no we would not lol
Do we need to pay in advance if your booking the gardens? Or do you book it and then we pay when we get there?
I think ZC is bringing her boy and my mate who wears fake hair but isn't on the forum is coming as well now.
I'll text them both and then PM you with definates though

Re: Birmingham/West Midlands Meet: 08/08/09
I'm really really sorry to say I might not be able to make this after all =(
I currently live with my boyfriend and his brother & their housemate, who drive us both crazy! We've just found a house of our own, and the letting agent has just given us a moving date of 8th August (Personally I was hoping for sooner!)
Its a real shame, cos although I was pretty nervous, I was looking forward to meeting new people! Especially since all my fake-hair friends are all the way back up in Yorkshire =( And I've just got some gorgeous new dreads from geneticfreak I was going to show off!
If anything changes though, I'll definitely still come...
