Hair Assasin???

Post by doclocks » Sun Aug 24, 2008 4:50 am

Seriously, I'm so f*n excited, maybe you can calm me down. Has anyone heard about this?

Copied from a post regarding sock wars...
"Have you all been following the Sock Wars?
Mims mentioned it to me a couple of weeks ago but I didn't quite follow it all.
The "battle" was started by Julie Gardner of Belfast, Northern Ireland, when she heard about an urban Assassin-style game that involves "killing" targets with water or Nerf guns). But in the world of knitting, the weapon of choice is .¤.¤.. a pair of socks.

Folks who take part in the game get an address and shoe size and race to complete a pair of socks (everyone works off the same pattern, designed by Julie) and mail them off to their target before another knitter, the "assassin," tries to do the same thing to them. Get a pair of socks in the mail and ding-dong, you're dead. You then wrap up the socks you were working on and send them to your assassin, who must complete them and mail them off before getting the dreaded sock death knoll."
So I'm thinking of doing something like this, but with hair. Is anyone else game? I think it would be freakin hilarious. I could whip up a design pattern and set the date. Then I kill you!

NOT IF I KILL YOU FIRST.
This sounds amazing.

*edit* If this is for dreads, I'm down, but I really can't do candycanes.

Wow, that sounds hilarious!
I'm not a dreadmaker but I do make loose clip-ins, there's probably no way to incorporate different types of hair stuff into this but if there was I'd be up for it!
Otherwise, I'll just watch from the sidelines and live vicariously through you folks. :)

I can imagine myself dropping everything (work, school) to try to finish up the designs. xD Just to get the title of Hair Assassin!

Even if you get killed, it's a good thing, because you'll get a nice collection of hair

Can't do candycanes?? Well, depending on the design, might be a good time to learn! ;)

If anyone wants to play email me at doc@doctoredlocks.com with the subject Hair Assasin! and I'll start putting together a list and a plan to kill or be killed! *muahahahahahaaa*

Do we need to make a specific amount/style of dreads?

I'm interested, but I'd need to see the time frames first - I have some serious time commitments coming up, which might preclude me from participating. But we'll see...this sounds like SO MUCH FUN!

The problem will be that you couldn't play across the continents, as shipping would easily kill you(literally, in this respect, heh)

I'd be interested, but it depends on the amount of dreads that are required.

Maybe 5 accent dreads? Single or double ended dependant on the senders preferance I think would be right :)

I honestly think this is a great plan!

Basically you play by wanting to earn the title of "Hair Assasin!"

Everyone is given an "assignment." No one else knows who you are assigned to design a piece for. As soon as it is delivered to that person - you have earned a kill - they are "dead" and they must mail the supplies of their assigned kill to you. There assigned "kill" now becomes your new one.

If you receive a package, you are "dead" and you send your supplies to your killer. Thus the show goes on until one piece maker is left standing. They have earned the title "Hair Assasin!"

It's total nerdery. You up for joining? I'm going to launch this within the next few days. No one will know our numbers until it is too late. ;)

I'm excited for this, I'm going to put my kill number in my signature when it gets rolling, assuming I'm still alive! ;)

To begin with, a dog is not mad. you see a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I am mad.

I'm guessing this would only be for synthetic dreads? :(
