Not sure if this is in the right place. If not, please move the thread :D

This is my little experiment. I came home a few days ago and found my first set of dreads stuffed in a WalMart bag. They were extremely messy and wavy from the careless storage. I didn't want to reseal them because they looked effortlessly natural, so instead I made a pony fall. In the process, I found 3 extension clips with dreads stitched to them that I used for extra volume when the set was in use. I improvised and came up with this mess.

Step 1: The pieces
Three clips. Starting from the left, first one has 1 long DE and 2 short DEs stitched according to length.
Middle clip has 3 long DEs, last clip is the same as the first.

The pony fall. I couldn't be arsed to count how many dreads it has but it has around 40 DEs and 20 SEs in various lengths, shorter SE's being at the top, longer DEs at the bottom.

Step 2: Pony tail
It has to be far up, or else the extension clips will not cover your hair (you can make as many extensions as you want for coverage but I only had three so yeah). You don't need to make it into a bun unless you have long hair or it really pokes out through the pony fall. But mine is a pretty massive fall so I didn't need any of that.

Step 3: Putting it on
Insert pony fall the way you normally would. (excuse my face, I did this at night)

Cross some dreads as needed.

Clip in extensions, clip with purely long dreads first with the clip's teeth towards the pony fall, part dreads to the sides evenly. Then clip in the extensions with the shorter dreads directed at your face. Part the first front dreads so that the extension clips do not show.

Top view. The hole can be easily covered up with a cute bow or just simply clip in the extensions closer together (I couldn't do it because one of my clips slides due to bad stitching :( ) and a simple hairband would cover the hairline. :)

Crappy shot of back for length.

It's just what I'm going to resort to this coming school year when I do not have time inbetween installs to braid in my dreads
Try it out with your old dreads :D I wanna know if it works for anyone else.

Looks cool. The hair line looks really natural, it looks like an install when they are pull forward a bit.

No no! Yours is better because you show the clips. There's room for everyone's tutorials here :) Just pointing out you and I are of the same mind :)
