Traditional heat seals get revamped using ShapeShifter fiber.

This is a must see for stylists using traditional Dome and Prostyles methods.

Oooh. Awesome. I will have to try this. Since I got my ShapeShifter yesterday I've spent way too much time thinking about how best to do braided-in loose with it. This should be perfect. :) Doc, you rock so hard.

Thank God some one thinks so! :) It really made my night. I've been editing for the last 10 hours straight and it really makes it worth it.

That was really helpful. I discovered tonight that ShapeShifter laughs in the face of the lowly braid sealer, so I'm going to try mixing a little kk into it for when I do braids and twists and wrap the ends like in the tutorial.

Yeah, 450 to liquify is a lot to ask. lol

It's perfect if you mix in a bit of meltables though. It definately gives you the best of both worlds. :i2:

How do you get these kinds of extensions out of your hair when your finished with them? Razor to cut through the melt-able fiber? Seems like you'd cut off your natural hair too though...

hmm..i think i'd either cut the meltable fiber aboe where the heat seal is and try and slide it all off..
or maybe melt the meltable and slide it off that way?

then again, my methods and experiments end up with me having different lengths of hair ahaha

With the heat sealing method you just crack the seal and slide it off :) With a bit of wiggling heheh.

Dome and Prostyles have been doing heat seals for years. As mizsyn said, you just crack the seal by giving it a little twist, then unbraid from there.

For tough bonds I use a seam ripper or small cuticle scissors. You don't cut where there is natural hair so there is no danger of cutting it - you cut on the synthetic side. :)
