Re: Pic tut. : dread lock up-do
I tried this with my current hair and it looked wrong
So I did something else instead
Split the top front section of dreads into 3 (as if you were doing a plait) Take the side pieces and hang them out of the way.
Take the centre section and gather the dreads along the top of your head back to the crown, them tie into a pony at crown level. Flip it forwards out of the way...
Take the front sections and tie them up under the ponied bit, take the sections by the ears and tie then in the same way.
Flip the pony back down and you get a half-up half-down, slightly longer, version of the do.
It looks like theeees:
I'll try and get a better pic when I have a camera, I've only got my phone atm but the pony bit does a cute upwards lift and it seems to reduce the high pony headache of doooooom (which is a win win situation as far as I'm concerned )

I tried this updo when I had my dreads in, but it didn't turn out too good because of my undercut

I love all of these! If only I could get mine to stop slipping when I do them. My updos always seems to last about 30 minutes before they get loose and come undone.

Really?? You can try and make a "double knot" (don't know if that's the right term, but making two knots in stead of just one)HairAndStuff wrote:I love all of these! It's a lovely updo, but it doesn't work on mine they're so stiff they stick out at all angles
