Bad weft extensions?
I posted in this forum a little while ago saying i wanted to get some blonde HH weft to dye crazy colours. I bought sleek euro HH weft in 613 and thought it'd be perfect but i dyed some test strips today and left the dye in for about 3hrs and when rinsed there was quite a few strands the dye didn't take to. Is this normal or have i got a horrible batch of hair? I feel there's no point dying the rest if all i'm going to see is blonde hairs shining through.

What this usually means is that you got a blend of synthetic hair in with the human. The one way to know for sure is if it says %100 human hair. I would read reviews before you buy next time.

Re: Bad weft extensions?
It does say 100% human hair on the pack and this is what i bought http://www.diversityhair.co.uk/sleek-eu ... p-380.html
There was no reviews and never is for what i'm looking for. I'm guessing this wasn't what was in the packet or it is just not 100% as it says.

Sometimes cheaper hair says "100% human hair" on the package even when it's not. It oftentimes happens with lighter colors like #613.

Re: Bad weft extensions?
I have to say though the hair was not cheap so i was obviously ripped off grrr!. Is there any other brands i can try? I would buy from you ikickshins but to buy a full bag would incur custom charges for me.
Any UK people recommend a good site to buy from?

Re: Bad weft extensions?
Like someone already stated, the inability to dye it all , could be that it was a blend of synthetic and human and sometimes 100% human hair has a coating on it which prevents it from being dyed as well. ECW by Black n Gold is coating free and they offer 100% human hair in various shades of blonde. Sorry the company is in the U.S.

Re: Bad weft extensions?
I've just bought hair from eihairextensions.co.uk non Sleek ones. I will try that but i'm starting to wonder why i ever bothered it would have been easier just to bleach and dye my hair!. I would buy B&G ECW but i would only be about to buy 24" without being charged custom fees etc and iks doesn't have the length & colour i need anyway

Re: Bad weft extensions?
Bleach & dye on your own hair can take a toll after a while, the lifting and boosters can dry out your hair and lead to damage. That's why extensions are the go to, I hope the new ones you got works for you. Is there a place on this board that I could check out concerning customs cost etc. as it relates to hair being purchased from the US? Thanks

It's best to call customs directly or check their website; customs regulations vary by country, so there's no single answer for this.strandzofadiva wrote:Is there a place on this board that I could check out concerning customs cost etc. as it relates to hair being purchased from the US? Thanks

Re: Bad weft extensions?
I find this really odd, as ive always used that and never had any problems with it. Where did you buy it from? Are you sure it was actually Sleek brand in the packet? Ive had some dodgy repacking done on me when ive bought hair before. It should all be 100% human hair. Though sometimes it can be coated very slightly in the processing which makes it hard to dye, like a silicone coating you get on some smoother hair.
Maybe try another dye? Or wash the hair with a clarifying shampoo first, then dry, then try dying again.
Ive always used Sleek hair for dying and it has always been great. Maybe you just got a dud batch or something. Contact where you bought it from or sleek themselves.
Also, it looks like you are saying you bought from us... would be greatful if you'd alter that

Hi diversity i didn't buy from you but could only find a clear pic from your site. I'm pretty sure it was repackaged because i did a paypal dispute after the company didn't reply to my email and they have not bothered with that either. I def want my money back as it is not 100%HH i've washed it with clarifying shampoo before dying and still the same results. I hope the new hair i bought works fine i will try this week :/

Re: Bad weft extensions?
It's actually going quite bad. The only reply the company came up with is "sleek should take the resposibility. please give us your contact details so that we can sort this out. sorry for any inconvenience."
Well no way i'm being fobbed off just like that and being declined a refund. I replied back saying it is in no way Sleek's responsibility when they weren't the ones who sold me the item and no other retailers have had a problem with the hair. So i guess i shall see what happens next. They are certainly not up for taking responsibility and if they reply again with a silly comeback i'll move it onto paypal's hands and see how they deal with it. :/

Your contract is with the company you bought the hair from... they have a contract with sleek (if they did in fact get it from them). It is the company who sold it to you responsibilty to sort out by law. They need to contact sleek on your behalf if that's the case, else they need to own up as to what the hair is.

Yes i hope they do own up because it's starting to annoy me that they are blaming sleek. All i ask for is a partial refund or refund without postage cost added.diversityhair wrote:Your contract is with the company you bought the hair from... they have a contract with sleek (if they did in fact get it from them). Re: Bad weft extensions?
Yeah sometimes even if it says 100% human hair it is not. It is very hard to find a great source of hair! It is important to know that hair extensions come in various grades where grade AAA is the best, this means it is 100% human cuticle correct hair that has been dyed from VIRGIN hair. If it is grade D or lower it is mixed up with synthetic hair or even animal hair, eww. The only way to really know the quality of the hair is buy a few to test it by colouring if this is what you want to do and wash it a few times as this really shows the quality. Cheap chinese hair has been coated with silicone that wears off after like 6 washes, leaving the hair extremely matted and tangled.
