Fatty Synth Dread Tuts?
Lately I have had an itch to try making super fat dreads but I have never seen any tuts on them.
I did see the small little chunk in Doc Locs Dreads Basics vid but was wondering if there were any others out there if anyone was maybe thinking of making one?
Thanks

I'll see what I can do.
But you need to know how to backcomb a LOT, more so than usual, and have a steam source powerful enough to stop them from unravelling.

Thank you so much
Yes I do.
I use an iron and I have never had problems with unravelling.

An iron will be completely useless. You need a constant force of steam and an iron doesn't do squat with dreads bigger than 1cm thick.
I suggest investing in a proper steamer. Would you rather your dreads last for years or weeks?

Re: Fatty Synth Dread Tuts?
Honestly the fatter the better. I always always loved {To the point I have a big pic on my wall} of Nafreyou{sp?} wearing Cirque Machine's big fat dreads ^^
So I guess anywhere from 2-4 IN would be a good start

I have a power steam iron... one of those huge jobbies with the big water tank... i have found this to be just as good as a steametr because of the steam jet...
I just couldnt get on with the steamers i tried... they never seemed to seal properly!!
I think if you have a decent enough iron you can make it work for you... but just a regular little iron wouldnt be strong enough to cope with the steam power needed for super chunky babies!!

Re: Fatty Synth Dread Tuts?
Currently I am using a mini hand iron but thats because it was better than the flatiron and actually pumps out some serious steam when I have it going full blast.
Its starting to pack it in so I am looking for a an actual steamer but I have never had problems due to sealing

I lost the disagreement with my camera , so I got a webcam. Still figuring it out, but should have the tutorial up tomorrow.

Re: Fatty Synth Dread Tuts?
Agreed! I would love to learn fatty dreads. All of my dreads are relatively thin but I've been getting them gradually fatter, but nowhere close to CirqueMachine's which look amazing, btwSyNNy+SuKKupyre wrote:brandalynn wrote:I lost the disagreement with my camera , so I got a webcam. Re: Fatty Synth Dread Tuts?
I just posted the url for the tutorial. You can always make them much bigger by simply adding more hair. I should have another one up for decorating them very soon.
