Hi gals and guys,
I've been looking at getting a dreadhawk now for a while and I've read up as much as I can find on techniques etc. but I still have a couple of questions....
First of all should I be using SE or DE dreads?
Secondly, what is the best method of getting the hawk to stay back?
And finally what sort of thickness should I be using?
Sorry if this has already been answered, being a total Noob.

First of all should I be using SE or DE dreads? Whatever you prefer, I've always used DE's. Some people like SE's around the hairline though
Secondly, what is the best method of getting the hawk to stay back? Elastic bands, grouping small bundles of dreads as you go.
And finally what sort of thickness should I be using? Again, all down to preference.

Re: Dreadhawk Help
It all depends on what look you want to achieve. I used to squeeze 30-40 DE sharpie thickness in mine so it could look like a full head if I needed it to. For a dreadhawk to stand up, I would use SE large thickness dreads. But again, it all depends on what type of look you want. I have seen a few people on here use hair ties to get their hawk to stand straight up using DE and SE.

Re: Dreadhawk Help
It really depends what kind of look you are going for. Do you want to look like you have a full head of dreads or look like you still have a mohawk? Do you want them to stay up and be "big hair" or to lay down flat?
