Hair extensions + dreads

Okay, so i'm curious about dreads, i'm really looking into getting some. Thing is, my hair is very thin and i'd like it to be thicker. Could I do hair extensions, and then dread my hair, so the extensions and my own hair are dreaded together? What would be the best type of hair extensions for that? I was thinking about micro ring extensions or possibly sewn in.

that wouldnt work, as you would be able to see the track, links, whatevr method you used. you can however, dread your real hair then add dread extenders.it wont make it thicker, but would give you nice length

also if you done that, at the root they would be growing out thinner cos thats the natural bit of the hair, i really like thin dreads, my dreads are really thin

i agree. i like thin wispy dreads. if thats the hair texture youve got, work with it and use it to the best advantage
