Wanted: Steamer suggestions?

Post by sugarpain » Sun Oct 18, 2009 10:33 pm

I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right area, I hope I am though! If not please let me know.

So... I have a problem. I prefer using steamers via boiling water. However, my steamer keeps breaking down. I use the smaller hand held Rowenta steamers that you can buy in any Jo-anne's or Bed bath and Body.

Now I've had one break on both I and a friend in the past, but we thought maybe her mother had dropped it seeing as we left it on the kitchen table and she's... not so careful. However after I bought a personal one, after a few months it also broke >_<;.

My main question is, does anyone have any suggestions for any good brands or types of steamers that have worked out really well for you? I'm currently looking to replace this one and was just wondering if there were any good suggestions before I replaced that one.

Salton makes the Steam Fast upright grament steamers which are a little less expensive than the Jiffy.

I've actually got a Jiffy steamer which I've used but because the plastic handle I needed to replace the hose. I bought a Jiffy hose with the interchangable kit (like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Jiffy-Interchange ... B0018MUVEY) and it attaches to my thing just fine and has a wig attachment (the tube attachment) and works great.

That steamer has lasted me since 2002 and other than the cheaper hose, I have no complaints.
