Bleeding eyes..
So for this halloween i really, really want to have bleeding eyes and by "bleeding eyes" i mean make them look all blood shot and bleeding from tear ducts. i was hoping someone here may know how to do it or direct me to some tutorials or something so that i can avoid experiments that may make myself blind..

if you use fake blood it's really easy because it will fall naturally. just use and eye dropper or pipette to put it near your tear ducts. it also helps to run a tiny bit through the bottom lash line.

as long as you don't get it in your eyes you're fine. i do it every year. not my best work, a few years ago it came out really nice but the only picture i have of it is in my high school's year book (that i didn't buy).Ice_Pick_Abortions wrote:i wasn't sure if you could just put fake blood in there but if you can then i'm all set cos i ave tons of the stuff! although i'll maybe buy a new batch if it's going on my eyes..
if you want to make your eyes bloodshot you can rub them with your hands.

you could try putting red food coloring in your eyes to make the whites red, I have heard of people doing this. I've never done it myself, it might burn a bit, but Its supposed to last a good few hours.

Re: Bleeding eyes..
I would never ever put dye into my eye. My eyesight is the last thing that I want to loose, or mess up! Besides, if you do decide to put dye into your eye, think about how long its going to last. You might have a "red" eye for about 4 days,- how embarrassing!
Using fake blood is a good idea for bloody tears. For Bloody or Red eyes, I suggest that you use red eyeliner, or red eye shadow, and shade around your eye to give the tired, sad sore, teary eyes effect!if you use fake blood it's really easy because it will fall naturally. just use and eye dropper or pipette to put it near your tear ducts. it also helps to run a tiny bit through the bottom lash line.

I have dyed contact lenses before with food coloring. I ended up with pink eyes and not red, so you might want to axe the dye in the eye idea....

Re: Bleeding eyes..
I work in a SFX business with my friend - and we whip up AMAZING fake blood all the time...
I can't remember the specific recipe off the top of my head - but it involves water, corn cyrup, red food dye and CHOCOLATE SAUCE! I kid you not!
I used our homemade blood in these pics - I will link them as I am not sure if they are considered "violent" (I was in a Zombie movie and I do Ghoul Promo work at a local Horror pub But there is epic amounts of Fake Blood involved in all pics )

Hopefully I can wrangle the recipe tonight and post it - if you still need it?
