make-up brands?
What make-up brands would you suggest are good to try out? drugstore brands, that are affordable
I'm looking into trying nail varnishes/foundations/eye shadows/lipsticks/concealers/face powders/eye pencils/primers etc
edit to add: any good skin care products that are suitable for dry and sensitive skin, but sometimes i have the odd spot here and there but i dunno if that's down to stress at uni lol. Oh and i have black head that just won't budge there not majorly noticeable, but I'd like to 'get rid' of them.

MUA from Superdrug, most stuff is only £1 - like single eyeshadows. The gorgeous Miss Malice uses it. Er, I like Barry M, GOSH, boots No 7 & 17. I like the bourjois stuff too, but if you have sensitive skin don't use the mascara. I had 2 & they both made my eyes itch.

Model's Own, which is available from Boots seems to be quite good. The eyeshadows seem to be highly pigmented if too shimmery for my tastes and they do the only available-on-the-high-street navy blue without any shimmer nail varnish.
I am also fond of GOSH and Collection 2000.

I like their eyeshadows, for how cheap they are they're decently pigmented. The lip glosses aren't too bad either. Mascaras can be hit or miss.

Yea i find their mascaras come off onto my skin, have been using Clinque atm, but was looking for something just as good as I'm sure there is.Bomber wrote:I like their eyeshadows, for how cheap they are they're decently pigmented. The lip glosses aren't too bad either. Mascaras can be hit or miss.
I got a freebie set a while ago with the newspaper, eye shadows were good, the eyeliner was rubbish! came out streaky and the applicator is solid plastic which i think is why it comes out streaky and their mascara isn't very pigmented or does much as far as I'm concernedVex88 wrote:I agree with MUA ,some nice stuff.

I'm looking for a decent liquid liner though, i currently use alamay, however it's a bit flaky and comes off just below my eyebrows and smudges -_- only got it because it's ok on my sensitive skin, i have tried Rimmel, collection 2000 and N07 from Boots but they make my eyes sting like hell I also liked the application alamy use as its a kind of soft sponge application, as the brush ones i've used in the past seem to fray/split if you know what i mean Uh I am fussy lol

Model's Own is dirt cheap afaic, but I usually wear MAC or Illamasqua. It's usually around £5 for pretty much everything.

Barry M liquid liners are good, with a decent solid brush, not those flimsy ones that bend all over the place and you need nerves of steel to apply it, personally, I hate thoseMiss_Panda wrote: I'm looking for a decent liquid liner though

Re: make-up brands?
Seems to me, if you are going to spend money on numerous different products trying them out, you would be far better buying yourself decent make-up. especially as you have said so many times about how sensitive your eyes and skin are. Perhaps changing around with your products constantly is exasperating your sensitivity. I also have sensitivity problems (particularly my eyes) and find the more I mess, the worse it gets.
As a liner, I use a Maybelline one that looks and acts like a felt tip pen. I don't know the name but it was about £6 and is brilliant.

What, that? It's a spade.

Maybe Line Stiletto? That's what I use, more of a sponge than brush and I freaking love the stuff..woolhairhabit wrote:As a liner, I use a Maybelline one that looks and acts like a felt tip pen. I don't know the name but it was about £6 and is brilliant.
