Red lipstain/lipstick

Post by somekindafreak » Sun Jan 23, 2011 3:27 pm

Ok ladies just looking for some reccommendations for a good dark red/crimson lipstain or lipstick. I have been searching for ages and just cant find anything suitable I have tried Macs Rubywoo lipstick and some lip tint from superdrug but both are too pinky. I want full on vampire dark, blood bitten crimson red...

I was going to suggest the superdrug stuff.. I actually got a beaut dark red lipstick from boyes! It was about 60p and it's better than most I've used, lasts aaages and doesn't smudge. It's also the best colour lipstick I've ever bought, I wear it most days. Hope I've helped!

If you have an eyeshadow the color you want, you can always mix it with a bit of lipgloss to tide you over until you've found the perfect shade you're after. When I want that deep red, I wear Molten EyeShadow from PureLuxeCostmetics; link here: http://pureluxecosmetics.com/page17.html Works great :)

I don't know if you can get it but I use Revlons 'Just Bitten' in a really deep blood red colour. Also this stuff - http://www.maybelline.com/Product/Lip/L ... pcolor.htm stays on FOR-EV-ER. I know this because my 3 and a half year old daughter decided to try it out. Around her eyes. It took days of her looking beaten up to get it off ;)

I don't know if you're not supposed to or not, but I use Directions dyes for lipstains!
It's my biggest beauty secret :P Rubine is a lovely dark pinky red and Vermillion Red is a beautiful pin-uppy red, those are the only two I've used. They last for ages! Only they can be very drying so I always moisturise my lips first and whatnot. It never rubs off either.
I'm not sure if it's bad for your skin or harmful or anything but I don't think it would be toxic as people use veggie dyes to dye their pets fur, so I figure it's safe to put on your lips? Anyway, I'm not suggesting you do it or anything, but it always works great for me (just dont get it on your teeth...)

Cover girl outlast lip stain is pretty good. I have a light red natural shade and after a few coats it becomes a dark vampire red. It lasts for ages and you can't feel it at all.

Veggie dye or not I wouldn't put it on my lips. You can use food colouring as a cheap lip stain :)

Revlon have 'Revlon Red' which they also do in a matte shade which practically welds itself to your lips, and Rimmel have one called 'Diva Red' which is very...i'd say post box red

Revlon's Just Bitten lip stain in Midnight Red is the darkest red lipstain I've ever tried. The point of the Just Bitten line is to hinge on the current vampire trend going on (Twilight, True Blood, etc.) Just always use balm!
