Anyone here have any experience in adding synth extenders to natural dreads?
Not the hairpolice method with braiding at the end of the dread, but with using a crochet hook or a felting needle? I'm wondering if it meshes in easily with human hair.. I know wool smooshes in there pretty easily.. but I was wondering how synth hair holds up. I really want to try that new shapeshifter hair for a set of extenders!

Re: Synth Extenders
It doesn't mesh very well, because synthetic dreads, for the most part, are twisted and sealed, so there would be a distinct texture difference.

I've had the HP method done before and the texture different wasn't that big of a deal.. I meant that if it felts in easily with the natural hair/dreads. Unless that is what you meant?ANNloses wrote:It doesn't mesh very well, because synthetic dreads, for the most part, are twisted and sealed, so there would be a distinct texture difference.

I'm not sure, because I've only extended my own dreads with human hair.

human hair works well, but synthetic hair looks so different, its really obvious.

Re: Synth Extenders
i loop the synth one through the root of my real dread, people are so shocked when i tell them that half my dreads are fake, but the ones i made are an exact colour match and sealed to they look natural
