Blonde sun-spray on dreads?

Does anybody know this product??


There's different ones, but the thing is, that you spray this on the hair and dry it with a hair dryer. It should lighten the hair a few tones, and doesn't need to be washed out.

I wondered if it's any good on dreads?
My hair is dark blonde, and I want it lighter, but have worries about bleach and being able to get it all washed out..

There was a big trend of using this here in the 90s, you were lucky if you ended up with a dark ginger lol. That was years ago though so the formula my have been improved and I don't know anyone blonde who used it but I wouldn't be expecting huge results from it

That stuff was evil! I used it when I was a teenager and my hair was a dark blonde/light brown naturally. It did lighten it, but the colour wasn't very nice. It didn't make my hair feel too great either. Of course, the formula could have improved by now as I_P_A says. Its certainly a blast from the past!

Is that similar to Sun-In? That stuff was shockingly damaging...

I'm sure it does a lot of damage to loose hair - my question is this vs bleacing dreads with normal bleach and maybe not get all of the bleach out of the dreads.

I would think that you would really have to saturate the dreads with it for it to have any effect, I really don't think it would be worth the time and money

i'd steer well clear of it, having seen what similar products do to normal hair, i wouldn't want it anywhere near my precious dreads, and the colour it lightens to is usually not very nice.
i bleach my dreads the traditional way, and i've never had a problem with bleach left in a dread and rotting it.

IDK, I probably wouldn't wanna risk it on real dreads! How about trying something natural like lemon juice and olive oil? In the sunshine it really works and smells lush you can also use a hairdryer though as its the heat that processes it xxxx

lemon juice works wonders and sit in the sun or try chalomile:)

I used sun-in in the 90s to lighten my mouse brown hair to blonde. It made it a nice blonde (if you like that sort of thing, which I did at the time) and there was no damage to my hair. I seem to be the only person who had success with it. I'm going to look for a pic to show you! (not on dreads, just on normal hair)

Edit: Ok that;s me on the right aged 14 or something with sun-in lightened hair that I tried to convince people had just lightened by itself in the sun! I did a bit, then a week or so later a bit more and this was the result after a few applications I think. I think it may have gone lighter than this over the course of the next few months, but I don't think i have a picture of that. I have no idea what would happen on dreads though

I would just bleach them the normal way with normal bleach. When I had natural dreads I never had a problem bleaching them. And bleach don't rot...

I used it on my hair when I was a wee-one had no issues with it.
