Removing dregs of blue... light ash blonde?

Post by [Phexxie] » Sat Feb 18, 2012 12:47 pm

As some people know, I recently went from dark blue to platinum blonde

I'm almost there, but I have a slight lingering of greenish hues and dirty yellow on the ends
It's fairly light looking, but not as light as I want

I am still washing with vosene as well (as my good ol' K-Pak collection and weekly coconut oil masks to keep it healthy) and doing the odd soda/vosene soak but it's not shifting >_<
I can't cut it out since my hair is only shoulder length and I REALLY do not want to bleach, I don't think my hair would forgive me if I did!

Would using an ash blonde dye be of any use to me? If so, any I should look at using in order not to cause super-damage to my hair? Semi dyes are fine if it's worth trying

I do currently use the Superdrug 'cool blonde' toner but it obviously isn't helping (my roots are stunning white though!)

Any suggestions?

Have you tried the vitamin c trick? It does strip out some colour and not as harsh as bleach. It helped me get so e red out when I went blonde recently. Ultimately, the only thing that has worked really well is more bleach lol!

I haven't yet but I will do I think, it may be a bit better than the bicarb
I'm definitely not bleaching lol, if it has to stay this way all year then so be it!

It will get there! It has taken me 4 months of bleaching, waiting, bleaching, vic c etc to get almost perfect platinum- still creamy peachy golden bits throughout but at least now they blend in well.
