Hair products for synthetic dreads?
So I'm wondering if in the installation process of putting synethetic dreads in, if anyone uses products to help the frizzies or if you just don't mind? What do you recommend?

No products I wouldn't have thought it was a good idea as there is no way of washing that product out really with dreads in. so it could make the itches worse and be all clogged up haha. IMO

You can use a little bit of gel diluted down with water

Some people do. I personally install on hair that hasn't been washed for 2 or 3 days as it's easier to section & you don't get as many flyaway hairs.

I use aloe vera gel because it actually moisturizes the hair. Just be sure to get the natural, no chemical, good stuff.

i use a spray bottle of diluted leave in conditioner it helps with my frizzies and sectioning but it also makes it a bit more difficult to braid.

I use a tiny amount of a shea-butter based purpose designed plaiting cream. The one I favour is aimed at kids and contains no unnatural ingredients.
What, that? It's a spade.

I figured that products would make it difficult to braid, I was just curious. The Shea butter cream that you were talking about, what's it called?woolhairhabit wrote:I use a tiny amount of a shea-butter based purpose designed plaiting cream.
