Forum rules
Any show offs - not hair related - go here!

1) You must keep posts PG13.
2) If your pics are likely to be considered a little 'saucy' (sexy / suggestive shots are fine- so long as they are arty!) put NOT WORK SAFE/ NWS in your title.
3) When replying to a post, remember this is NOT the critique section.
4) Comments like " I love your eyes/ my god you are hot" are not helpful! Include them but please comment on the item/s being shown off too!
5) This Show Off section is only for showing off non hair related products, not making sales. Please make no references to eBay, A and P, or any kind of sales. You may offer the same item for sale in A and P, but no cross linking between A and P and Show Off. Show Off should be a place to comment and encourage each other; we don't want Show Off to become a billboard for sellers.

I'm not sure if other people call it different things. It was at the end of my pattern so I looked it up.think its used for setting the shape of an item. Possibly only works on natural fibres

Blocking an item is used to help set the fibers in shape, especially helpful for natural fibers as I've never had an issue with acrylics.

It's pretty easy. Soak the finished item in warm water and dry it without ringing our stretching. Putting it in a washing machine on spin only is one way. Or place it on a towel and blot out the excess water with another. Once it's just damp you spread and pin it into the desired position/shape and let it dry.

Here is a helpful link: http://www.knitsimplemag.com/node/32

It says cool water, I said warm. I was thinking luke-warm or room temp, so closer to cool.

Thanks :) It's from a collection I am trying to make to appeal to the rave crowd. Every convention I sell at has a rave night and my boyfriend's bar does raves about once a month. And since they don't tip him, I figure they might buy my stuff and we can still make some money off of 'em :P

I just finished the blue section of my blanket with literally 3 inches of spare wool! *phew*

blanket so far:

Image

The peach is being done with a double strand of DK as I only bought one ball of the aran in the peach and then couldnt get another(i forgot i needed 2)... I dont think it looks any different...slightly trickier working with two balls of wool at once..but its ok :)

Yeah, it is. Not sure of the sex yet, thats why it's all different colours. (also the pattern is similar)

It's from a free pattern on ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library ... by-blanket

Still working on my baby blanket (on the last colour now though)
Had a go at wee booties. I used a pattern that had fluffy wool but I used normal DK so I think they look a bit gappy. I may try to find another pattern.
