amethyst Art Yarn install

Forum rules
If it is fake hair related it goes in here!
1) Nice clear pic of the hair- we are not particularly interested in cam whoring - you want to show yourself off - put it in the gallery for 'everything else'.
2) When commenting - please be more OT than "wow you are freakin' hot!" We all like to be told we are hot mamma's - but mention the hair too!
3) Please don't be horrified if people give you helpful criticism. If you give criticism, please do so respectfully.
4) If you would like to NOT hear criticism, please say so.
5) If you are specifically looking to refine your technique, please post it in the "Critique" section (under Advice & Know How) so we can help be extra picky. ;)
6) The Show Off section is only for showing off hair, not making sales. Please make no references to eBay, A and P, or any kind of sales. You may offer the same item for sale in A and P, but no cross linking between A and P and Show Off. Show Off should be a place to comment and encourage each other; we don't want Show Off to become a billboard for sellers.

amethyst Art Yarn install

Post by VixenSingsBlack » Sun Jun 24, 2012 6:54 pm

I gave the following image of amethyst to Jess of Sweet Redemption fiber arts of Etsy and asked that she make me 7oz of thick/thin yarn. This is the awesomeness she came up with! I had to add some cyberlox because 7oz wasn't quite enough. Next time, 9oz!

I'm pretty sure linking sellers is against the rules.

Yeah, I wrote that rule. But it's okay to say who made it, which in itself is an ad, which means it'd still be against the rules... I don't know, I'm confused. I'll remove the link for now and have a think on it.

Yeah, but we say who made our dreads all the time in show offs, I don't think a name is advertising per se - I took it as links aren't allowed as it says make no reference to ebay, etsy etc.

I do not really like the dreads themselves, but the way she imitated the amethyst is just awesome! :D

I'm not usually one for yarn installs, but I really like these! Also, the amethyst as inspiration makes me happy!

The yarn matches the inspiration photo so perfectly! Love the install, the crin was a nice addition though I almost feel like they weren't needed. Beautiful nonetheless!

I didn't want to add the crin, but I had to because I was a little short on the yarn.
