New sets: monochrome & blues

Forum rules
If it is fake hair related it goes in here!
1) Nice clear pic of the hair- we are not particularly interested in cam whoring - you want to show yourself off - put it in the gallery for 'everything else'.
2) When commenting - please be more OT than "wow you are freakin' hot!" We all like to be told we are hot mamma's - but mention the hair too!
3) Please don't be horrified if people give you helpful criticism. If you give criticism, please do so respectfully.
4) If you would like to NOT hear criticism, please say so.
5) If you are specifically looking to refine your technique, please post it in the "Critique" section (under Advice & Know How) so we can help be extra picky. ;)
6) The Show Off section is only for showing off hair, not making sales. Please make no references to eBay, A and P, or any kind of sales. You may offer the same item for sale in A and P, but no cross linking between A and P and Show Off. Show Off should be a place to comment and encourage each other; we don't want Show Off to become a billboard for sellers.

New sets: monochrome & blues

Post by xxkinzixx » Sun May 08, 2011 10:16 am

Finally found some time to get back to dreading so I've been trying to be good and finish up all my half done projects before I buy new stuff. My attention span is ridiculously short so I have to work fast or things never get finished

Super chunky monochrome 28 SE's (might make a few more black solids if I need them but I'm about to shave a bunch more of my hair off. mwahaha!)
they are a lot lighter than I expected them to be, but they still feel sturdy... and this pleases me :ugeek:

50 DE's, harlequin in black and lots of different blues. There's a bunch of random splashes and blends thrown in but they are hard to see in the pics. I found a few really thick cardboard tubes that were the perfect size to make some huge curls... it worked wonderfully (mostly because it allowed me to be lazy). this is my first set of curlies ever! yay!
sorry they look a bit disheveled, I made them into a fall and took them along with me but decided not to wear them in the event

Thanks for looking at my stuffs! :D

Love both sets. I'm totally stealing your method for making the loose curls:)

How thick are the monochrome dreads?

How thick are the monochrome dreads?
i bet a pvc pipe or something would work better but i just covered the tubes in saran wrap so they didn't get soggy. they are a little wider than an inch and i didn't steam too long so they would loosen up quicker. it dries a lot faster than doing the broom handle and boiling water method. bonus!
the monochromes are about 1" thick... originally wanted to make them thicker (like the pangaea designs wigs *drool*) but figured it wouldn't be practical for an install
