Do you Fallow Trends
Are you a trend person?
I personally try to avoid trends if they are popular. If I like it I'll buy it, but if I am buying it just because everyone else is doing it. I try my hardest to avoid it. With that said, that doesn't mean if breathing was a trend I would try to avoid it lol.
So are you a trend fallower or no?
Which drum do you beat to?
I'll go frist
I am not a fallower.
I don't fallow trends mainly because I don't pay attention to them.
I buy most of my fabrics but hardly rarely buy clothes from the mall.
Or I tend to buy clothes from second had stores and alter them.
I use to be in the BJD but to much drama (which seems like its a trend now) .
But it seems that its so popular now that I heard a reporter speaking about it on my classical radio station?!
your turn!!

to be honest i buy what i like, i alter my own clothes and buy them from town... im not bothered how i dress.. one day i can have a full on goth look... next i might look punky, i wear what i feel comfy in and what i think looks good
but i am not sure when people go out of their way to make sure they dont follow a trend... i mean its up to them but i just dont see why they should try so hard or even bother... it is ironic as not following a trend actually becomes a trend... if i make any sense

if people just get things that is popular then its a trend.
if you just get what you like and don't think about it then its nothing.
high school
being emo was a trend
wearing your anime costumes to school was a trend
black rubber braces were a trend

Re: Do you Fallow Trends
I don't exactly follow trends. I always liked a certain style, but I haven't been able to dress that way due to the availability of the clothing. For example, I've always loved gladiator sandalls, but I haven't been able to wear them til this year, because that's when stores started selling them again because they became popular again. I've also liked the look of high-waisted trendy clothing, but until recently, every store sold low-rise clothing.
I like a lot of black, but I also like colors in my wardrobe.
Believe me, the majority of my clothes are so random and unexpected or bright, that I rarely get to wear them out.

Oh I get what your saying,. but for me if its extremely popular and annoying then i tend to avoid it. for example, i use to love going to anime conventions but after a while i got really tried of the constant clash of people pretending to have anime names. trying to teach themselves Japanese by watching undub anime. eatting souly Japanese food to train themselves for when they leave in Japan. Or talking in half English half Japanese words.biowaste wrote:to be honest i buy what i like, i alter my own clothes and buy them from town... im not bothered how i dress.. one day i can have a full on goth look... next i might look punky, i wear what i feel comfy in and what i think looks good

I don't follow trends, but I do like most of the gothic fashion on the high street now. I do keep up with what's 'in' and what's 'not in', but that's because I usually end up working in retail so make an effort to know.
Couldn't afford to follow trends anyway! It is nice when something you like is in trend and cheap though.

Sooo true!! I worked in a fabric store and a drug store. Mostly the only retail trends I know are when fabric is the cheapest and what type of condom/KY is popular =/..davendor wrote:I don't follow trends, but I do like most of the gothic fashion on the high street now. Re: Do you Fallow Trends
I dont really pay any attention to what is or is not in fashion.
If I go out shopping I buy what I like the look of.
If it turns out that every third person also has one then its no big deal, it most certainly wont make me not want to wear it.

Re: Do you Fallow Trends
Um.. I know this is pedantic, but I really must point out that 'Fallow' is something to do with fields... 'lying fallow'..?
I think you mean 'Follow'.
Sorry, /pedanticism ^_^;;;
As for whether I'm a follower of trends - nope. Not really.. well, I don't think so anyway. I guess in some cases, but only so far as it fits my tastes. *shrug*

i LOVE observing trends, and i love having the chance to put my own spin on them even if i don't always follow them. That's where the real challenge lies

What I said can be generalised to any trend, I think I read down and saw people were talking about clothes and just wrote about it from that perspectiveCupcak3_pr1nc3ss wrote:thats fine, im not really talking about i mean like big cult trends.<<Miss_Sami>> wrote:I dont really pay any attention to what is or is not in fashion.

when I read the title I wanted an unseeded field trend.
I'm actually a bit dissappointed that the thread wasn't about that. Fields are great ^^

Re: Do you Fallow Trends
I don't follow trends at all, but i certainly don't complain when the fall in my favor. For years I hunted thru the evening wear in every single store on Earth looking for retro/classy/hollywood dresses when I needed something fancy. When it became "in" to dress like Marilyn Monroe again, I pretty much jumped for joy. It made finding the stuff a lot easier
Re: Do you Fallow Trends
I don't follow trends, but I don't actively avoid them either. I like what I like.
Im really not a fan of most trends tho, as theyre almost always unflattering.
Im really not crazy about the whole mullet thing, or the 50s styling.. not to say it doesnt suit others but.. id not go there.
I did like when combats were in tho!

Re: Do you Fallow Trends
I buy what I like, I dont care what "trend" it is - goth, cyber, emo, lollita, grunge, hippy... it all features in my wardrobe and I mix and match everything.
And I dont care if something is "in" or "out"- if I like it, I wear it.
I dont tend to buy from shops in the street like newlook, primark etc. most of my shopping is done online.

LOL sorry! I that case, then I guess I dont really follow any... I dont watch much Anime or read manga - that being said I do like Studio Ghibli films.
I only ever saw the clothing side of Emo- I have a few things but I didnt get into the music at all.
By BJD I guess you mean those Dolfie things? they are a lil bit freaky IMO :S
