Neon rainbow extravaganza {INSTALL PICS ADDED 9/9/11}

Post by poxabomination » Wed Aug 24, 2011 12:02 am

They're.. 18 ish (I can't remember how many) harlequin DE's, half candycane and half.. something else! Some splashes, spiral wraps, etc. I used tropical blue (which sucks) neon yellow, neon green, orange, and hot pink. Tell me what you think! The sun was setting so everything was kinda tinted blue, and my camera is finally dying I think as well so the pictures are shitty and the colors are off really bad :( I'm gonna try with a different camera tomorrow and maybe get some better ones!

Yes, I did backcomb them apart and then together, but I am having trouble getting the two colors to "stick" :i7: Towards the end I started getting the hang of it but not as well as I would have liked. I mean, I can't pull them apart easily but I'm still not 100% happy with them.

Thanks you :i2:

I meant a figurative nun, but even still, I would punch ALL the figurative nuns for literal tentacle dreads.

wow guys :oops: you're way too WAY TOO nice. Seriously, can you guys point out anywhere I can improve on? I'd really appreciate the help. The shitty pictures made some parts I need to re-seal stick out, but is there anything else you see that could be better? :)
I really wish I had more hair leftover, I'd really like to make a full set of the wrappy ones. AND I have a super fucking cool idea involving paint, but I only have enough hair left to make... like 3 :s

And I'm planning to install these in a couple weeks, so watch out for that! Hopefully they look as good on my head as they do on my picnic table :lol:

The wrappy sides are fantastic. The candy-canes could do with a little work, as has been mentioned. But the wraps look great. BRILLIANT colours as well :D

Yes, I did actually try my felting needle but.. I may have gotten all my needles wet without realizing and they're all rusted now so I don't think its worked as well as it should have :s probably time to buy some new ones.

I would actually really love to make some again, maybe we can do a trade eventually or I can do that thing where.. someone pays for materials and junk? I'd much rather get the hair with my own money though, I don't think I'm ready for the responsibility of having someone else's money :lol: Also, I wanna wear them first and see how they hold up before I go mass producing pretty dreads that fall apart when you sleep on them >.< That would make me saaaad.

It will definitely be AFTER I install and wear these for at least one good run. They look ok, and they SEEM good/well made, but I couldn't let someone pay for them in good conscience unless I KNOW for a fact that they'll hold up. I will let you know right away though! ;)

Oh, for sure! Though I might have to pester you to attach them to a wig for me, since my hair's only half an inch long right now hahah. But since they're not going to be slept on or showered in, they chould theoretically last forever!

I have never done a wig ever, I'm like... afraid to even try it :lol: But I think a wig made with all dreads like that would be way too cool! One day...
