Fire Curlies
Okay so where to start ....
first i made these DE Black to Red trans
Then i thought it would be cool to make a fire set since I've had some pre-made orange and neon yellow laying around forever (orange DE's not made by me bought from some one somewhere at some point they have been laying around so long i cant even remember where they came from)
And then for some reason i decided to give curlies ago since i had never tried before
I tried 3 different curling methods one on each color
1. black and red trans- attached one end to a roller twisted it around until there was no more room on the roller then clipped and dunked it in and out of a pot of boiling water
2. Orange- these i braided together in a big lumpy mess and poured boiling water over
3. neon yellow- this time i clipped one end to a roller and then twisted the entire dread around over lapping it's self a few times and then clipped the other end and then let them swim around in a pot of boiling water for a bit
I guess my big question here is witch style of curlies do you like best ? and does it bother you like it bothers me to see three different methods of curls on one set?
I also curled a few solid black DE's and this is what i came up with
mounted on lace and tied to clips
View of the back of my head I left a few straight but i may change my mind and go back and curl them too!
and the front :p plz forgive my skankyness

They look great!
I do prefer the Black - Red curlies but thats just because I love tight curls but it looks good with different curls!

Re: Fire Curlies
I prefer the red-black, but through your experimentation you've learned three ways to curl! Congrats

I love the contrasting curls, and the colors are beautiful.
I have a sudden obsession with curlies lately

I prefer the red/black, and personally, I don't like the multiple textures together. I think they look better more uniformed, but that is me

Re: Fire Curlies
I really like your idea here! It's very elemental super hero-like (I.E. The Dark Phoenix). I think the reason why the black & red dreads are more "eye catching" is because of the light and dark contrasts tend to compliment each other really well, especially on film.
My suggestions are to either try to blend all your colors, (since you already have dark hair) or make transition dreads, by blending all your lighter colors (red, orange, & yellow) then transition those colors with the black.
Props for making a straight and curly dread combination. I am so used to seeing either, all curly, or all straight, but never both. You get a thumbs up from me for creativity (^_^)b

Thank you!! when i do make dreads that's usually what i make i dunno why but installed dreads that don't match my hair color just don't look right to me / on me .... but that might just be me
so not to have a big head but i think I've gotten pretty amazing at making trans there just so time consuming

Re: Fire Curlies
All 3 curlies look lovely and I think it actually gives the fall nice texture with the different methods. It looks wonderful together. I like to braid together for a nice wave and then wrap the dreads around a hair roller and dip em for a tighter curl. Cant wait to see more.
