help ! dread falls..

Post by candycovered » Fri Aug 29, 2008 8:58 am

I'm going to be making dread falls to sell at work.
I just had a couple of questions.

1. I've only ever made double enders, though I do know how to make single enders.
are they any more difficult ?

2. what is the best thing to mount them on ? at first I thought a hair band, but obviously they snap when put under too much tension. would a chunk of elastic be better ? how thick would you recommend ?

3. in 2 piece dread falls, how many dreads are 'usually' on each ?
I wish that time would stand still,
if this was part of a film
we would watch the clip all day,
like a portrait of you and I...

I thinks SEs are easier than DEs

You can mount them on sewing elastics or stretch lace

The number of dreads depends on how thick they are. I use 45 per fall, but mine are relatively skinny. For microdreads, I use 60 per fall

I think that SEs are easier. But some people experience thicker SEs than their usual thickness of DEs.

Like ikickshins said, it depends on the thickness of your dreads. My dreads are thicker than most people's dreads, so I only put 20-30 per fall, depending on the volume desired.

I usually use 30 DE's per fall in two layers of 15.

you don't need to make SEfor a fall, just use a mini elastic to double them over to thread onto elastic.

Perople often prefer this as they can take them off the fall to briad in if they want to.
