First I wanted to gave myself a new haircut, including bangs, trying fakebangs instad Then a friend of mine convinced me to first trying fakebangs instead of cutting my hair.
So now, before I spent too much money on crappy stuff.....I wanted to ask you guys what should I look for, what are the impirtant things to know about these pieces ?
I think I'd like to have human hair because I *hate* that terrible shiny plastic stuff....especially because I do a lot of photoshoots and I wanted to wear the bangs especially on pictures.
There is no local store where I could buy it so I have to order online. A friend of mine told me to look for European hair and not Asian hair, because it will look more real, but most sellers just give the information that it is human hair, but not where it comes from.
So any help is appreciatet (where to buy it, links, what to look for etc etc)
What should I know about fakebangs.....before buying them

Oh yeah, for sure, go with human hair. It's easier to manage. The most affordable human hair for the job is definitely ECW by Black & Gold, which is 80% remy, but still super soft and European textured. Fake fringes are usually mounted on weave clips and the track is easily covered by either a headband/bandana or your own hair (which is more difficult if you don't have a similar cut to the fringe).
So you have slightly more insight as to how they look when worn and how they are worn, check out my video on fake fringes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_GALmge7tM
So all in all... Here's my blatant pitch.
I sell do them. I make them out of ECW human hair wefts (I always carry platinum 613 and black 1, because you can dye over 613 and most people choose a black base). I do both custom and premades (for Etsy). I do a select number of styles including side fringes, long and short straight cuts and a v fringe.

Otherwise, there's I Kick Shins (uses the same hair as I do) who offers more styles and cuts than I do. Pretty Dreadful also has a few in her Etsy shop, but you may want to contact her about custom made.

You can find fake bangs everywhere online! You can even find sets that you don't have to use a headband to cover, which I waaaay prefer. I feel like there should be more to a hairpiece than just plopping a weft on top of your head, haha.
Here's a few sets:

http://www.amazon.com/Cutira-Bang-M27-6 ... B003H3651U

There are a ton more on eBay, just search "human hair clip-in bangs." I think it's also worth mentioning that not all synthetic hair is "shiny and plasticy." From what I've seen, the hair used in Jessica Simpson's synthetic line isn't bad at all, so that might work for you too: http://www.amazon.com/Hairdo-Clip-Jessi ... B002GCRUEE

I don't suggest human hair for ethical and washing reasons. Synthetic is reliable, never ever fades, comes in more colors, and is easily styled. Obviously, I make such fringes myself Here's my page about them on my selling site-->http://vixensingsblack.com/RSCustomizeFringes.html AND info about my fringes--> http://vixensingsblack.com/RSInfoWool.html Oh, and some gallery photos because pictures are pretty--> viewtopic.php?f=53&t=5693
Here's some info on them as well-->http://www.vixensingsblack.com/Guide/Fringes.html

Our sets are awesome! They are a bit on the thick side, so you may need to thin them a bit, but they work well and can be dyed or toned.
