Colinette help

Post by Black-Sunshine » Fri Aug 21, 2009 6:46 pm

Hi

I was wondering about colinette falls, do you just buy colinette wool like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COLINETTE-Point-5 ... 286.c0.m14 and then attach it to elastic to make falls? Or do you actually 'do' something to it like roving.

Sorry if this is a silly question
I had a look through this forum and couldnt find anything about this (sorry If Im being blind lol)

Yep, that's it pretty much. Some people will advise you to felt the ends of the wool so it doesn't unravel--I've never had a problem with any wool unraveling. The key is to cut the wool at the thin bits, not the thick bits, and to put equal amounts of wool into each hair fall. Also, do some experimentation with length--the best wool falls have a staggered length for fullness.

Thats a great help thanks :)

How do you attach them to the lace/elastic? Is it just the same as dreads?

I just knot it onto elastic myself. Again, only make knots where the wool is thin.

I like to felt the wool ends since there are often times when I am wanting a specific length for falls and it just doesn't fall where the wool is thin. And after the ends are dry I just knot them on the elastic.
