Hi again folks
Is there a way of making transitional roving DE dreads without having to dye them?
I have looked for a tutorial but can't seem to find one, unless I'm being totally blind.
Also, is there an easy way to do twisty/blendy ones? I've made a couple so far (literally 2 lol) but my way is pretty tedious.
Thank you for your patience

Yup, it is possible. Jane Do did a tutorial: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=153
I make mine in a similar fashion. It is easier to do the trans bit on the middle part of the dread, but it is possible to do the bottom section (although VERY annoying)
Here are some I made before:
& trans on the bottom:
However, the way I do it is as guarded as the way I do the "webbing" I found out purely by tests & (many frustrating) trials.

I think I do mine in a similar way to DreadStarMonstar but I'm not sure. I won't reveal either in case it is the same.
Again, I got there by trial and error. Just keep messing about with wool, it's the best way to get a feel for the material you're working with.
Here are some I've done

You could also attach two bits of unfelted roving together with a felting needle, then felt-palm roll as per normal.
