Wanted! People to show off colinette do's!

Post by Tashayarna » Sun Jan 31, 2010 6:17 pm

I wasn't sure where this would live in the forum! so please feel free to move!

I'm thinking of doing a partial install with colinette and synthetic dreads, I just wanted to see more photos of peoples colinette installs before I make a decision. I did look using the search but couldn't find many :<

So this is a picture request thread for colinette! also any tips would be great! :>

Thanks!

check out woolhairhabit's show offs, they'll be a few to inspire you - they inspired me to do a full istall.

EDIT: Thought I should add that I did a wool roving, colinette, synth dread install last year. It's kinda hard to see, but I think you'll get the picture.

DreadstarMonstar: Thanks! I've already seen some of woolhairhabit's installs before but I always enjoy going back and searching for new ones :>

VixenSingsBlack: Thank you!! your installs are beautiful! ^.^ Out of curiosity are the roving/wool installs lighter than synth? I've never had wool before so I just wanted to know what to expect weight wise?

I have been working with Colinette for more years than I care to admit and have MANY pictures that I haven't posted on this board. ;) I can dig some more out if you like, I'm working with images over the next couple of days. :)

Just to clarify though, do you mean Point 5? Colinette is the company name and Point 5 is just one of the yarns they make. I'd suggest that they make other yarns that are too readily overlooked for hair extensions.

In terms of tips, I find that treating yarn as you would synth is the best way to go. I prefer proper braiding as a method but it can be put in like DE's or SE's which may work better if you are mixing it with synth. ;)
What, that? It's a spade.

I was gonna use point 5, but after PM-ing Gracey she advised me on the one Zero - which was super to use! really light, but awesome coverage :)

I wore mine like this most of the time:

I originally had these being a super long below the waist pony fall, then I shortened them and braided them in my hair... and after that they were still in such great shape that I attached them to ribbons and had myself a pair of super full hair falls.
