cyber-tastic skirt!
Finally took some pics of this bad boy so I thought I would share!
I made this for a rave a few weeks ago... the rave sucked but at least I looked awesome
I'm thinking of making a listing on Etsy (with better pics of course!) to make custom skirts like this, do you think it's selling quality? It was a lot of fun to make and now I really want to make more in different colors
I made this one using pink vinyl, black bias tape for the edges and black vinyl for the X
with flash:
(pardon my filthy mirror! eww!)
Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

Re: cyber-tastic skirt!
+1 on buying such a skirt. Only for me, I need to loose weight to look as good as you in it

I totally think it's sell-worthy. I'd buy one myself if I weren't a boy

Re: cyber-tastic skirt!
I WANT ONE.
Would you be able to cater to a larger size? (40"+ hips)
I'd love a silver and black one!

Yup, from what I can see I would say that it's selling quality. Your hems are really neat <3
I am curious... did you sew or glue the X on the skirt? Because its so neat and I'm trying to work out ways myself, but I like the appearence of yours.
I like your hair straightener by the way

Yeah, I don't really care for the way vinyl looks when it's been stitched so I used bias tape on the edges
I did glue the X on (I added it at the last minute before wearing it out)
you can kinda see weird lines where the glue is underneath, but I think next time I will try to use a fusible web or something to get it to look a little smoother

Re: cyber-tastic skirt!
Of course! I wouldn't put an iron directly on the vinyl, but I want to see if it would work with a low-heat fusible web (and a piece of cloth between the iron and fabric)
The thing I like about this skirt is that there are no seams, it's all one long piece that wraps around... the only stitching is done around the edges and to sew on the straps
I definitely want my pieces to last, the only possible problem I see is if the straps were pulled too tightly and it ripped the fabric... but that wouldn't necessarily be an issue of shoddy craftmanship
but I plan on wearing it out as often as I can to make sure it holds up

I used to make those out of duct tape, but your pvc version is fantastic! Totally sell worthy!
