First Attempt At Falls

Post by downinahole » Sat Aug 23, 2008 7:50 pm

These are my first attempt, so they're not perfect but i rather like them :D

These are the black and silver/grey ones. The black ones have silver accents and they are mounted on a metre of black ribbon. The partner is still being laced. They're are 20 dreads falls per fall.

These are pink and blonde curlies and my first candy canes. These colours were a pain to seal thou and the loops are not as good as i wanted them to be. My other half says the pink ones look like pig tails

And this is me wearing on of each. you'll have to excuse the bad picture. I'm thinking of sticking them on ebay as a way of moving on my experiments, bit obviously these will be washed before hand. I'm all for good hygeine practices

they are really cute- but do still look loose. try re steaming/ boiling- whatever your method was.

If you are going to sell them you want to sell something that lasts- just in case you want to ever sell in the future- make you name a good one!

I like the chunkiness of the curly ones- I think you would look great with a whole head of them braided in :)

Liz Sherman - your right they do look like sweeties :D Thanks chick x

Littlepinkfaery - thank you for the advice, I will attempt resteaming. I've been using the kettle but i might try pouring boiling water over them as well. If i do pop them on ebay, i'll only put on the black and grey ones with lots of pictures showing their condition and explaining i'm new. Would only want the cost of the materials back and it stops them taking over my house. lol. Not happy enough with the curlies to even consider selling them. Can't get the candy canes to seal right :( My 8 year old cousin will adore them thou! She's definatly a fake hair fan in the making! Again, thank you muchly, I appreciate any advice you can give x

boiling water works well, especially as they are already in a shaped dread :)

Gosh, i have no idea, it's the only pink i could get from the local afro-carribean beauty supplies shop. I think it's baby pink by Braid Too. I like the colour but i does feel a bit platic like when back combed. x

Looks like you need to backcomb a little more, especially the grey ones, but they look good for a first attempt :)
