Random extra hair colors + Stiffness issues
So i pulled out some stray left behind colors and made them. Decided to post them because everyone always has good observations and i love hearing new ideas. (The ends I haven't finished yet, just to throw out there lol)
But
I'm also having stiffy issues. No matter what, after i'm done sealing (via steamer) they always come out stiff. Is this inevitable? And how do I fix it if its not?
Thanks everyone

Stiffness really isn't that big a problem. Dreads tend to loosen up a
little once they've been worn a few times. Mine stand up on end when they're first done
these dreads look great though! Looking forward to seeing more ^__^

Oh, well then, I guess nothing is wrong =D ha.
I read somewhere also that machine washing them is recommended to undo stiffness? Would I do that in hot or cold water?

Re: Random extra hair colors + Stiffness issues
I agree with what everyone's said.
If you're REALLY keen on softening them up, I once heard Zullala (cutest name ever?) say that her dreads were quite stiff until she boiled them, and then they relaxed a bit. I doubt boiling them would de-seal them at all, just because some people seal with boiling water anyway...
..That being said, I boiled some dreads (to double seal them) yesterday, and they got a bit frizzy (although they were really nice and soft), so I'm sure it depends on what you're going for.
(here's that thread, btw - http://www.doctoredlocks.com/hh_forum/h ... ae3c35b18f)
They look GREAT... I don't think there's anything wrong with stiffness. It'll probably go away after one night of sleeping on them! Ha!

They look really great I love the colors, when I make my SE dreads some of them are to stiff they stick out and weigh down my hair I hate that it hurts especailly when I try to make jumbo ones I fail miserably at them

P.S. did the boiling method help/work? Just curious.
